- radio_button_uncheckedto taste salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Preheat and Marinate
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place tomato slices in a small dish and top with Italian dressing. Flip the tomato slices to ensure they are fully coated with dressing. Set aside to marinate for 5 minutes.
Toast the Bread
Brush both sides of the bread slice with olive oil. Place it in a small skillet over medium-high heat and toast both sides until golden brown and crispy, which should take about 3 minutes in total.
Sourdough or other artisan breads work best for a sturdy, flavorful base.
Assemble and Bake
Place the toasted bread on a baking sheet. Spread the burrata cheese evenly on top. Arrange the marinated tomato slices over the cheese and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese and the dried oregano.
Don't overload the toast with toppings, as this can make the bread soggy.
Bake and Broil
Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 13 minutes. Then, set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and turn on the broiler. Move the baking sheet to the top rack and briefly broil until the cheese starts to bubble and brown, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Garnish and Serve
Remove the pizza toast from the oven. Spoon the warmed marinara sauce over the top, then sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, if using. Season to taste with salt and pepper, slice on the diagonal, and serve immediately.
